Barnaby Bigfoot's Christmas Surprise

Deep in a large forest in the Pacific Northwest lives a family of Bigfoot, sometimes known as Sasquach. Grandfather Bigfoot had settled in the Big Forest a long time ago when MAN overpopulated his former forest home, causing all Bigfoot creatures to seek homes elsewhere. Eventually his wife, son and his daughter-in-law, and son, Barnaby, enjoyed a quiet productive life in the Big Forest, living in harmony with other forest creatures.

Barnaby, being a very adventurous young Bigfoot, often left the safety of the Big Forest to see what was beyond his home. This led to a discovery that could have been very dangerous if MAN had discovered him. If MAN invaded the Big Forest and discovered the Bigfoot clan, it could mean an end to the peaceful community as they knew it.

The discovery, however, was very important to Barnaby because he had an idea for a contribution for the Big Forest Christmas celebration.

Jo Ann Gilbert Stover was born in Salem, Oregon, in the 1930s. An only child, Jo Ann developed a very vivid imagination.

After marriage and having children, two sons and two daughters, Jo Ann found a ready audience for her stories at bedtime often created on the spot. When she became a single mother with limited income some years later and at the encouragement of her children, she began writing down many of her stories and poetry. Barnaby Bigfoot's Christmas Surprise was created as a Christmas gift to her grandchildren.

After her marriage to her present husband, Jim, who does fantasy computer art and paintings on black velvet, Jo Ann wrote a fantasy novel and is presently working on a sequel.

Jo Ann and Jim now live in Coos Bay, Oregon, with their large black cat, Pyewacket, where Jo Ann continues to write, creating magical creatures and scenarios to the delight of her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and nieces.
