by N Theo Bowe
The characters sizzle off the page in this tale of struggle in the life of a young vulnerable girl in a world where she has no worth. Trapped in a world of sex, incest, lies, and betrayal, she must remain strong to persevere and make something of herself.
In the midst of this cesspool of sin is a struggle and survival is not ensured. Children are bred like rats as bargaining ships to be traded in an evil economy. Prostitution is the bread-and-butter industry of this village and morality is a thing for Sunday mornings. Sunday night is spent on one’s back earning supper.
Yet nothing ever stays the same, and controversies make the village a stringer place as the outside world encroaches into the isolation of these peoples. And there your heroine finds the keys to make her mark and change her destiny.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Nicola Theo Bowe spends most of her days as a junior high school teacher, and there is always a student who needs her help, so life is never dull. When school is out, however, she enjoys the beautiful climate of the Bahamas, indulging in the crystal-clear waters and strolling on the powder-soft sand.
While she enjoys the sea cuisine from the islands, she is also a fan of the Food Network and works out five times a week to make up for her indulgences. She also enjoys a good book and goes out of her mind if she spends a week without one. She loves life.
