Being the oldest in my family, a lot of responsibilities automatically fell on me. This book depicts my life growing up in the rural South as a young girl. It also explains my desire and search for a better life and what I thought (at that time) was an enhanced lifestyle. In this book, you will see the mighty hands of God in my life. ABOUT THE AUTHOR
I am the eldest of four siblings born to the late Arthur and Dinah Veal in Union Springs, Alabama. I was married to Roosevelt Massingale at the early age of nineteen and after nine years, my husband and I were divorced. I have five beautiful children: Roosevelt Jr., Kamal, Linda, Lynn, and Derrick. Out of their unions came ten energetic grandchildren: Hamida, Zafir, Joseph, Derrick Jr., Joann, Kasib, Aqueelah, Shannon, Samuel, and Derricka. I am currently an Ordain Elder at the Chapel of Hope Full Gospel Center in Cleveland, Ohio.
