Deandra was born in Richmond, California, in 1990. Dark Moon: Finding Myself is her first novel in a planned six-book series. She completed this book as her project while enrolled in the Future Leaders Institute (www.furtureleadersinstitute.org) for the 2006-2007 school year. As a result, she is proud to say that her first novel will benefit the San Francisco nonprofit organization Spark (www.Sparksf.org), founded in 2004 by a group of young women in San Francisco seeking to engage their peers in global issues that affect women.
Deandra currently attends high school in Albany, California.
