About the Author

Eugene Combs received his B.A. from Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas; his M. Th from Union Theological Seminary in New York; and his Ph. D from Columbia University in New York. He has published two novels, two books on running, and one book on human ordering, including Modernity and Responsibility. Dr. Combs is a professor emeritus of McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada.
