Essays and Thoughts
by Richard F. Rubino

This is a collection of reflections by a person who enjoys documenting the various moods and mental experiences he feels.

It gives small examples of "ups and downs" and sometimes the confusion one feels in the grip of emotional pulls-from exhilaration to desperation…from fog to clarity-as well as the things we face as steppingstones in our emotional growth, whether toward success or frustration and destruction.

All this is written by a man making a serious attempt to understand his world.

About the Author

Richard F. Rubino has had a career as a public school teacher, performer, and private music instructor. His hobbies as a collector of jazz records, gardener, scrimshaw artist, and traveler keep him busy all year long. He has a loyal audience for his weekly radio broadcast that features the music of The Great American Songbook.

Writing essays and short stories has also been a hobby for many years.

Educated in Boston, he earned a diploma in music from Berklee College of Music and a bachelor's degree in music from Boston Conservatory. In 1968, he was awarded a master's degree in history from Bridgewater College. Mr. Rubino lives on Cape Cod with his wife of forty-eight years. They have three children and two grandchildren.
