by Brian C. Harriss
On a bright, sunny day in early May, four friends tee off for their inaugural golf match of the new season, the Follies. Over four hours, they compete, joke, ridicule, antagonize, and ruminate about the game, themselves, life, politics, family, the battle between the sexes, and other subjects. Foursome Follies provides amusing and penetrating insights into the mystery of the game and the captivating hold it casts upon millions of golfers.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Brian C. Harris grew up captivated by Arnie’s dramatic charges and mesmerized by the exotic locales of Shell’s Wonderful World of Golf; however, he never played the game except for occasional corporate outings, where his performances were miserable. At fifty, a bad hip forced him to lay down his tennis and squash rackets and abandon his daily five-mile jog. He turned to golf and was immediately addicted. After five years, he has a handicap of fifteen and a passion for the game and the unique human chemistry it elicits. A financial executive, Mr. Harris lives with his wife and three children in Connecticut.
