Free from the life of domestic violence for the first time, Karen Shields chooses to live her live in Alaska, the final frontier, where everyone leaves behind a past in order to start over. Turning fifty this year has given her a new sense of freedom to live the life she chooses.
Her goal is to work with women who are victims of domestic violence in order to advocate for them the support and assistance they so need. She would like to open a home for survivors of the terrible injustice of domestic violence and the system that fails them.
