Our granddaughter wanted to keep the Leaf Lady her friend forever, but Leafy was made out of play dough, and when we moved the Leaf Lady fell off a table and broke. Needless to say, there were many tears. I promised Tiara that I'd write a story for her about the Leaf Lady that she could enjoy until Jesus comes, so that children around the world would be able to get to know and love Leafy, along with all her other forever friends.

Adele Louise Hayes grew up in Omaha, Nebraska and graduated from Papillion High School in 1975. Later her family was transferred to Forth Worth, Texas. While there, she worked with the Edna Gladney Home, where she was a foster mother to infants waiting for adoption. While fostering she also raised her three daughters and worked with the Homeless Ministry at her Church.

A transfer to Grand Rapids, Michigan proved difficult but rewarding, as Adele helped to start Street Light Ministries, through which she and others shared the gospel with the homeless and helped those on the streets. Two years ago, Adele was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, keeping her home full time. Unable to hit the streets as she used to do, she now devotes her time to prayer, her husband Timothy and their family, her plants, and writing. Adele and her husband still drive downtown to see how things are going and to hug a few old friends, and she's sure that you'll find the same kind of love and dedication in this book.
