This kind of pain was never experienced by my family before. No one ever expected it — least of all me. The fear and confusion didn’t end. We often asked ourselves why this happened. Now we understand it was meant to be and nothing anyone said or did could’ve changed it. Today my life is hard. Simple things are hard at times, but I always manage somehow. I’ve learned people aren’t always what they seem, and I never take one single thing for granted in my life. It’s a blessing. You never know when you’ll lose it! Life is extremely short, and I’ve had to learn that the hard way. I’ve learned to never lose hope under any circumstances. ABOUT THE AUTHOR I am a lifelong resident of Massachusetts. Although I love it here, I wouldn’t mind living in a warmer climate. Church is the biggest part of my life, and I truly enjoy it and learning about God and Jesus. It holds a very special place in my heart and probably always will. I’m a happily married woman and plan on staying that way. “Til death” was the vow. Although children aren’t in the picture right now, who knows what the future will bring? It’s not up to me! Some people always feel the need to stay busy. Not me. The days I have a lot to do aren’t for me. I’m perfectly happy staying home and being a wife. Cooking, cleaning — I love all of it. The simple things in life are what interest me most.
