A Mixture of Longing and Disgust, Mixed with Love
by Beck Blasé
Sometimes “emo,” sometimes “death metal,” often reflective of romantic relationships, moral failures, and the search for God, A Mixture of Longing and Disgust, Mixed with Love bares all. It reveals everything you fear, as well as everything you hope for. Many wear masks every day of our lives, but here one can see the true self, beneath and all but covered up.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Beck Blasé is a myth. No one knows where he is from. No one knows his true appearance. He wears a mask to appease society and culture. He is you. He is me. He is all that you fear to face and the road that you fear to tread. He is disappointment. He is error. He is the face of pain, loneliness, and aggression. He is the downcast in a society of cookie-cutter resemblances. And despite all of his misguidings, he is a voice of love and hope.
