Musing and Contemplation from a Poetic Mind
by David Harper

Musing and Contemplation from a Poetic Mind is a compilation of poems full of life that will take you on a spiritual journey.

This collection of poems covers a broad range of topics that titillate and delve into mainstream issues today, from praising and honoring firefighters and police in “Dilemma” to chronicling urban life in "The Streets." These poems take a candid look at tough issues, like crime, racism, life, and death.

Other poems, such as "Thug," "Junk Works," and "Why I Write," deal with the importance of writing, the importance of what we write, why we must have a positive message, and why we must connect positively with our youth.

About the Author

David Harper was born and raised in Washington, DC, the fifth of seven children. He attended public school in DC from the '60s into the late '70s.

A product of the Metropolitan Police Boys Clubs (MPBC), growing up, David developed an appreciation for education and sports - mainly football, boxing, basketball, and tennis - which he maintains to this day. He is also creative and loves to draw portraits, read, and write in his spare time.

David is a born-again Christian who loves reading the bible and attending church. He professes that the Holy Spirit has spoken to him several times, some audibly, some intrinsically, and through His word. David refers to Job 33:13-17 as scripture reference.

David is also the author of Everybody's Favorite Brother, A Real DC Story, available at Barnes and Nobles, Amazon.com, and most bookstores.
