It is about the many stories of a direct-care worker and administrator. It is about stories that have touched a life. It is also about making a smile.
The makeup of this book has been gathering in me for over twenty years—since I first started working with disabled populations, comprehending the dynamics and difficulties of life with a disabled child, adult, and parent.
I write out stories of experience, recognizing that my life has truly been blessed. This book is simply an expression of humor that a wonderful population can bring. The expression “Oh Brother” is a effort to understand my own stories, shared in the hope that it might speak or cause a smile to the lives of others.
This collection is very meaningful to me, describing all those wonderful moments from my life. Most of them are humorous put together with love.
You will notice that parts of the stories are religiously based. I entered into religious life late in my life, a challenge and a journey that has made a difference to me.
As you read, I hope Oh Brother gives you a lift and lets you pass it along to others.
Our Lord has truly touched my life by the many stories of these individuals you are going to read about. My pleasure was to have known them face to face. May your pleasure be hearing their words and actions.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR
A native of England and the U.S.A., Michael Goshorn left religious orders and now resides in Pennsylvania. He is currently running a private care home for the disabled and working parttime at a local hospital. He has a busy schedule—maintaining his house, his job, and his beloved pets. His stories are constantly being recorded for future books.
