This book is about how poetry speaks to me, how it truly inspires me in everything I do. I've always loved reading poetry, so I thought I'd try my hand at writing it.
"The Beginning" includes poetry from my younger years. These are poems I started writing when I was 13.
"The Evolution" is a compilation of poems written when I realized that God played a huge part in my life and my well-being.
"The Expectation" features poems written when love entered my life and became more and more familiar to me. Lastly, "Family and Friends" is for those who always reminded me that I could be a published poet. Now, here I am. Thank you!
About the AuthorBorn in Toledo, Ohio, I have always strived to inspire through my poetry by using people, places, situations, and experiences as my subjects. Some of favorite poets are Maya Angelou, Langston Hughes, and Edgar Allen Poe. I earned my BA in communications at the University of Toledo and hope to someday own my own magazine or newspaper publication.
I have several poems published on poetry.com, which are included in this publication. I hope you enjoy reading them as much as I enjoyed writing them.
