I am the author of these poems. My life was changed in 1994 when I was diagnosed with bipolar disorder, a chemical imbalance. I struggle every day with the four sides of myself. As normal-minded people, we balance our emotions, which makes us one person. I no longer see myself as one; I now see myself as four. Emotions create a personality for each side of me, and I see things differently than everyone else. I wrote these poems from the depressed side of myself, or as I would say, the suicidal side of my mind. We all look for a purpose in life, but dealing with the four of me makes it hard to find one. All of the poems I wrote started in 2001, when a door to my mind opened. The first poem I ever wrote was in 1976. There was no meaning to it then, but maybe there is meaning now.
A ManDon't ever give up on your hopes and dreams. There is a purpose for everyone out there, and someday you will find yours.
