by Helen Barton Hodge
I can’t take a lot of credit for this poetry. I firmly believe this was given to me from the caring heart of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. I only wrote it down. I believe it will be an encouragement to some and a learning experience for others; it might possibly be a loving reprimand to some. There are some poems that warn us to watch out for Satan’s wiles and others that let us know to denounce him. All of these poems are from heaven’s caring heart; they are guideposts to lead us to God’s throne.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR
I, Helen Barton Hodge, was born in October of 1939 in a southern town called Opp, Alabama. My parents were John Alton and Mary Lucile Barton. They were divorced when I was quite small; therefore, my grandmother, my mother’s mother, was a big help to my mother in raising me during those early years. She was responsible for my earliest religious training, for which I am very thankful. She lived what she believed every day, and she taught us children that way, too.
When I was about four years of age, Mother remarried and brought to me one of the finest daddies one could have. In time we moved down to Central Florida, where my three sisters and I were raised. There, too, was where I met and married my wonderful husband, Earnest Hodge. We are the glad parents of three wonderful children: a daughter and two sons. We also have several wonderful grandchildren and great-grandchildren. We recently celebrated our fiftieth wedding anniversary. I started writing plays, songs, articles, poems, and stories many years ago with the help of our wonderful Lord!
