Random Thoughts and Writings
by Henry L. Johnson
The featured poem “Where Do We Go from Here” began as an angry letter in reference to a telecast of two victims of a drive-by shooting, which deprived me of sleep that night. Included were questions and concerns about black-on-black crime, a lack of love, respect, education, and leadership. You’ll be inspired to return to that “Village” concept from our distant past. Some poems in this book are based on true life experiences; others are thoughts, and observations written in a humorous, poignant, and romantic form. “Katrina and Me” conversation is a humorous account of my “Katrina” journey.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Henry L. Johnson was inspired to begin writing poetry in 1998 after the death of a close friend. His ideas for writing come from daily life situations and are conveyed in a very thought-provoking way. His first literary work of poetry was registered at the Library of Congress in 2006. In life and writings, he is likened to a salmon whereas he doesn’t always go with the flow.
He has lived in Atlanta, Georgia for the past few years, but is a native of New Orleans, Louisiana and is the son of the late Henry Johnson and Geneva Johnson.
