I had intended to entitle this book, Friends and Others. My idea was to write verses about the beloved people in my life. But as I began to read what I had written, I discovered that most of the verses were about the one person I know best—me.

Nikki Salupo was a secondary reading and English teacher in a suburban Cleveland, Ohio, school system for twenty-eight years. This is her second book of verse. Five years after her retirement from teaching, she and her husband Jack still live in Fairview Park, Ohio.
