Spiritual Jewels is a sampling of the many poems Marian L. Wilcoxon has written over the years. They are spiritual in that they cause a person to reach within him or herself. There are so many uncertain things in life, but it is reassuring to know that one thing never changes: the Word of God. The first portion of the poems reflects the reality of our creator. The second deals with the heart. Next, Wilcoxon talks about the Christmas season, which has a special meaning to so many. Finally, she shares thoughts about love, her husband, her children, and her grandchildren. The last poem “Dawn Will Break and Joy Will Come” was written in honor of those who lost their lives on September 11, 2001. May we all share love because love is what keeps us from falling apart.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Although Marian L. Wilcoxon started writing poetry as a child, she never seriously considered compiling them into a book until she realized that no one could enjoy them if she did not share them. God gave her a wonderful gift and what He gives should be shared. She believes that poetry is a melodic way to share God’s beauty, whether it makes you laugh, cry, or reflect.
Wilcoxon is retired now, and most of her time is spent working in her church and sharing love with her family. She and her husband have four children, eleven grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. She hopes you will enjoy reading her poetry, and you will use it to reflect, recite, or renew your spirit.
