by Patricia Ann Tolle Swanson

An assortment of inspirational and philosophical writings, Stepping Stones also contains the best of the poems Patricia A. Swanson has written over the years. It explains the condition of her health and how she meditates. It contains ideas she has learned in order to cope with a chronic ailment each and every day. She feels she has much to share with others who may have problems dealing with a health issue, no matter how serious or benign.

The section “Technology Versus Spirituality,” expounds the philosophical viewpoint that we as human beings need to get back to the condition of being human. Most of the poetry is inspirational and some abstract.

Patricia enjoys sharing her feelings, feelings you will be able to relate to because “we are all made of the same ‘stuff.’” Poetry is a great medium for reaching a higher condition of thought and sharing feelings that most people have at some point in their lives.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Patricia A. Swanson was born in Galesburg, Illinois, and grew up in Dixon. She and her husband now live in Edgerton, Wisconsin, near Madison. She has five grown children: a daughter, a son, two stepdaughters, a stepson, three grandsons, and one granddaughter. Her health problems began in 1984 and have become more complicated over the years.

While this is her first book, her poetry has been published by the National Library of Poetry in five of its anthologies. In 1995, she was invited to the symposium of the International Society of Poets, where she was presented with the International Poet of Merit Award.

Patricia knows there are many in this world worse off than she, many coping with chronic illnesses on a day-to-day basis. She wants to share what she has learned over the years. Even if she inspires only one person, she will feel she has accomplished something.
