by Marrily Runoona Kuzonye

I cannot elude the dreadful truth about the death of a sovereign nation once built upon democracy. There is so little ground beneath the feet of the oppressed Zimbabweans that they have all been long silenced. To the ruling minority, crises in Zimbabwe are far from the bone. To the poor and oppressed majority, their plight cuts deep to the bone.

In this anthology, my voice is a trumpet blowing tunes of anguish from this realm of browbeaten people. It bemoans, gives accounts of innumerable victims of countless crimes, and calls upon the nation to stand up, fight, and evade the army worm that has eaten away the roots of their existence.
