Walter, the Carpenter Bee is a work of children’s fiction that tells the story of a young bee’s determination to overcome the bullies who keep him from fulfilling his purpose in life. I employ Walter as a role model for children, encouraging them to stand up for themselves in difficult circumstances and revealing how justice and honor are bestowed upon those who are willing to prove themselves. Walter is designed to instill children with self-confidence, persistence, and ethics.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR
I live in Washington, NJ, Warren County. I’m a happily married mother of two grown sons, and I have a beautiful granddaughter. Both of my sons write songs and poetry. I’ve been writing poems for about twenty years. I started writing children’s stories five years ago. When I’m not writing, I like reading. My favorite books are about history; I like learning about Rome and Egypt.
My favorite time of the year is summer. I enjoy working in my flower garden and taking long walks. I love spending time playing with my dog, Athena, and talking with my sons about a new song or poem they have written. I like to sit out by my stream for hours, thinking of new stories to write about. I also find it very relaxing to go to art museums and get lost in all the beautiful paintings. I also like collecting Indian artifacts.
