Why Do I Keep Blowing Myself Up?

Item# ISBN9780805982633

by Larry R. Matthews

This book is a collection of true stories and poems that resulted from the author’s own life experiences and those of other people he has known.

Some, if not all, of his biggest mistakes in life are documented here.

Some are quite humorous, and some are very tragic.

The stories involve the military, animals, work, crime, and love, and show how the author dealt with them—sometimes with resigned acceptance and sometimes with humor.

The book also serves to illustrate that you must keep getting up and dusting yourself off, no matter how many times you blow yourself up.

Larry R. Matthews was born in Bakersfield, California, and is a lifelong California resident. Larry served in the U.S. Navy for four years during the Vietnam War. He has been a radio disc jockey and has also had a long career in county government.

He is the author of many articles and websites dealing with California history, hiking trails, Naval history, and the Vietnam War. He has four grown children and resides in northern California with his wife, Sharon, and three of the crankiest cats on Earth.
